We are in search of a Fleet Supervisorfor our Channelview TX office.This position works a 7 day on/7 day off 12 hour per day shift work schedule including weekends and holidays.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Assistfleet capacity and traffic management fleet operations record keeping andbilling facility management and up-keep and facility security by performingthe following duties:
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS:
FLEETOPERATIONS/ADMINISTRATION:
- Coordinate vessel arrivals and departures.
- Project fleet traffic and plan fleet capacity based on information attained from BMS company computer network communications with vessels and communications with vessel dispatch.
- Direct barge placement in fleet and removal from fleet with BMS and outside vessels.
- Communicate with vessels utilizing VHF radio and telecommunications.
- Maintain electronic fleeting logs.
- Generate billing invoices and maintain statistical reports as developed by management.
- Assist vessels in securing barges within the fleet and on the shoreline.
- Continuously monitor barge vessel dock barge mooring and shoreline conditions; report and correct issues or coordinate efforts to correct issues when necessary.
- Operate fleet equipment when necessary: utility vehicle forklift and other equipment as necessary.
- Communicate completely all aspects of fleet operations and security with shift relief at each turnover through the use of written and verbal communication.
- Perform other duties as directed by Fleet Manager.
FACILITYMANAGEMENT:
- Inspect facility for cleanliness; maintain and coordinate facility cleanliness.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility and equipment when necessary coordinate maintenance and repairs when unable to complete with fleet personnel.
- Maintain warehouse and vessel stores; receive and dispense supplies to vessels.
- Maintain disposal areas; coordinate with waste disposal companies to remove waste.
- Maintain equipment logs; maintain coordinate maintenance and record maintenance on fleet equipment.
- Assist other departments as necessary to ensure safe and timely operations at WEB Fleeting.
FLEET SECURITY:
- Maintain familiarity with security requirements per 33 CFR Chapter 1 Subchapter H Part 105.
- Maintain familiarity with Facility Security Plan (FSP).
- Acquire and maintain certification as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) as required by the FSP.
- Perform all duties associated with the FSP including but not limited to:
- Maintain port security awareness according to the current MARSEC level.
- Inspect and maintain all security equipment.
- Monitor all points of entry into the facility; screen personnel and goods entering and exiting the facility per USCG regulations and the FSP.
- Maintain secure areas.
- React to and report security issues per USCG regulations and the FSP.
- All additional aspects of facility security as required by USCG regulations and the FSP.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to read write and speak clearly in the English language.
- High School diploma or GED required; College preferred.
- 5 years of experience in marine transportation operations or related field
- Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Marine Transportation operations.
- Proficiency in or knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including but not limited to Excel and Microsoft Word software.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures.
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
- Attention to detail in composing typing and proofing materials establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient spelling grammar and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Requires being on call 24 hours a day for any Dispatch or Fleet issues.
- Must possess a valid Texas drivers license.
- Must possess a valid TWIC card.
- Position requires ability to continually work a 7 day on/7 day off 12 hour per day shift work schedule including weekends and holidays.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports businesscorrespondence and procedure to effectively present information and respond to questions fromgroups of managers clients customers and the public.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Thisposition requires driving a vehicle as necessary for errands and business-relatedmeetings. Employees and/or applicant must successfully complete a Motor VehicleHistory check and possess and maintain a current valid drivers license intheir state of residence.Requires occasionaltravel (once or twice each month) by automobile or airplane.
