Richmond Behavioral Health has full-time positions available for aClinician I/IIto support our Behavioral Health Docketteam with the AdultMental HealthDivision. The successful applicant will perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. The Richmond Circuit Court Behavioral Health Docket (CCBHD) Clinician supports the mission of the CCBHD by facilitating treatment planning case management individual counseling cognitive behavioral and/or psychoeducational groups and care coordination to program participants. The CCBHD Clinician also maintains records and files prepares reports and engages in related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned supervisor.

Job Duties

Prepares a collaborative client-centered Individualized Service Plan (ISP) based on recommendations of the Mental Health Assessment results of the Criminogenic Risk Assessment and clients self-identified goals. The ISP should be geared towards milestone completion rather than an imposed sentence/length of time and should include objectives that are measurable and based on a clients performance and abilities.

Collaborates with Behavioral Health Docket Probation Officer as well as all relevant members of the BHD team to monitor/update clients case plan/Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and recommend appropriate sanctions/incentives to encourage participant engagement.

Facilitates cognitive behavioral and/or psycho-educational groups based on evidence-based curriculum to address client needs in areas to include but not limited to trauma coping skills anger management and substance use.

Coordinates case management services and provides individual clinical treatment that is person-centered and trauma-informed in office home jail and community settings.

Case management tasks include but are not limited to connecting clients to a continuum of mental health (outpatient counseling psychiatric care medication management and crisis services) and substance use treatment (withdrawal management medication-assisted treatment residential gender-specific co-occurring disorders and outpatient services). (Per DBHDS Program Narrative.)

Coordinates and links clients to community-based services and other community resources and collaborates with stakeholders for service coordination; interfaces with other service providers and client support system.
Monitors clients level of functioning and assesses need for crisis intervention.
Conceptualizes clients from several frameworks and considers alternative diagnostic explanations for behaviors.

Maintains awareness of the sensitivity of the information provided to the court and provides only the most relevant information needed by decision-makers.

Documents and charts individual progress notes group progress notes discharge summaries and other client related data correspondence medical records Electronic Health Record (Profiler).

Attends and participates in a variety of meetings to include clinical administrative and supervisory meetings.

During pre-docket meetings with the CCBHD team CCBHD Clinician shares court-required verification of each clients progress on their ISP to include but not limited to: engagement in mental health treatment engagement in substance use treatment (if applicable) engagement in group therapy (if applicable) as well as relevant information related to housing education employment social support and income. Verification may involve multiple calls to treatment providers.

Meets with CCBHD Assessment Clinician for clinical staffings of new CCBHD clients.

Assists with court-ordered mental health assessments for referrals to the CCBHD as-needed.

Prepares and submits reports as required.

Monitors and audits clinical and medical records and practices for compliance with regulatory and agency standards; reviews documentation for accuracy; assists with reviewing division policies and procedures.

Represents clients and Authority in court and legal proceedings.

Provides transportation assistance for clients as needed.

Serves on a variety of committees as directed.

Completes all RBHA mandated trainings and seeks opportunities for professional development.

Completes electronic timesheets and expense reports.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of community and agency resources and programs of regional and state sources for the community service population; thorough knowledge of interviewing and supportive counseling techniques; thorough knowledge of social casework techniques; through l knowledge of human development and behavior; general knowledge of the theories principles and techniques of individual family and group therapy; ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility; ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions; ability to communicate complex ideas effectively orally and in writing; ability to prepare clear and concise reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients medical professionals community partners agencies associates and the general public.
