Job Description

UPMC in Central PA is seeking a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to join its Primary Care team in a hybrid Float and Inboxologist role. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced APP who enjoys variety collaboration and making a meaningful impact on access and care coordination across primary care practices.

The successful candidate will provide short-term clinical support at multiple clinical sites providing acute care and serve as an Inboxologist managing Epic in-basket responsibilities to help reduce the administrative burden on providers and improve continuity of care.

Position Highlights:
Provide acute patient care at UPMC Primary Care practices within a defined region filling in during periods of provider leave transition or high demand.
Deliver same-day acute care during business hours using a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model.
Support care teams by managing Epic in-basket messages including lab results refill requests and patient communications.
Collaborate with office staff physicians and other APPs to ensure continuity safety and timeliness of care.
Participate in a robust onboarding experience with access to mentorship and educational support through UPMCs Transition to Practice program.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
Current licensure and certification to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in family medicine urgent care or a similar outpatient setting required.
Strong working knowledge of Epic EMR and in-basket workflows is essential.
Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to meet evolving demands of shifting clinics and inbox responsibilities
Excellent clinical judgment adaptability and communication skills.
Must obtain and maintain hospital privileges as required by the practice.
