Internal Communication Officer within the Internal Communication Products and Channels Office Products and Channels Division Communication Department Director Generals Services.
Under the supervision of the Head of Internal Communication Products and Channels you as Internal Communication Officer will assist in managing internal communication within the European Space Agency.
Current internal communication objectives are to inform employees about the 2040 strategic objectives unify ESAs workforce with a clear brand narrative enhance engagement and support cultural transformation in particular through a new communication and intranet platform (called One ESA) inspire staff by emphasising the impact of their contributions increase visibility of leadership communication and improve internal corporate and institutional communication.
In close cooperation with the Directorate of Internal Services and in liaison with the Communication Departments Corporate and Institutional Communication Office you will develop the appropriate channels and products needed to support the Corporate Communication Strategy with respect to Human Resources Estates and Facilities Management Finance Planning and Controlling and Information Technology activities.

A masters degree in communication or a related field such as science communication humanities marketing or international relations.
Significant experience in internal communication in an international environment is requiredas well as proven experience in communication strategy and planning and campaign management across all channels.
Knowledge of intergovernmental organisations and their institutional frameworks is necessary while specific knowledge of ESA and its operating environment would be an asset.
Knowledge of human resources management facility and real estate management or IT and related communication needs would be an advantage.
You should have a good understanding of KPI measurements and media analytics.
Knowledge of using AI in communication is required.
The ability to communicate in German Italian or Spanish would be an asset in addition to the official ESA languages English and French.

In principle recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the masters degree the position may be filled at A1 level.
During the recruitment process the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests. Additionally successful candidates will need to undergo basic screening before appointment which will be conducted by an external background screening service in compliance with the European Space Agencys security procedures.

According to the ESA Convention the recruitment of staff must take into account an adequate distribution of posts among nationals of the ESA Member States*. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
