Job Description
Position: Financial Controller
Location: Sudan
Reports to: CFO
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight:
o Oversee all financial operations including budgeting forecasting and
financial reporting.
o Ensure compliance with accounting standards regulations and company
policies.
SAP Expertise:
o Utilize SAP for financial planning analysis and reporting.
o Manage and optimize SAP modules relevant to financial processes.
o Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and
productivity during the SAP transformation.
Cash Management:
o Supervise cash flow including cash positioning forecasting and liquidity
management.
o Continuously improve treasury processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
o Manage daily cash flow ensuring accurate reporting of actual vs. forecasted
cash positions.
o Ensure proper month-end closing activities including bank reconciliations
cash counts and loan/advance clearance.
o Ensure timely supplier payments as per contractual terms.
Accounts Receivables Management:
o Manage the order-to-cash process ensuring accounts receivable are reconciled
and closed on time.
o Ensure timely booking of sales both local and export and address
discrepancies.
o Ensure preventive and detective controls are in place to mitigate risk in the
receivables process.
Accounts Payable Management:
o Manage the end-to-end procure-to-pay process for Dal Agriculture.
o Maintain a strong system for monitoring supplier advance payments GRNI
and GIT and work with procurement to address issues.
o Develop a system with procurement to monitor the timely closing of POs and
review open POs.
o Ensure timely communication with treasury for payment processing and
manage prepayment accounts.
o Reconcile accounts with related parties Dal group companies and ensure AP
module closes within the Ethmar group closing timeline.
o Collaborate with commercial finance on logistics and landed costs ensuring
all accounts are reconciled and analyzed monthly.
Inventory Controls Management:
o Ensure proper inventory accounting and monitor movements in the system.
o Address discrepancies in transactions like receipts issuance sales returns
and write-offs.
o Oversee stock-taking activities and engage with stakeholders (Farm managers
Workshop Supply Chain) to resolve discrepancies.
o Review inventory balances identify slow-moving or obsolete items and
ensure inventory-related accounts reconcile monthly.
Strategic Planning:
o Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute financial
strategies aligned with business goals.
o Analyze financial data to identify trends risks and opportunities for growth.
Operational Efficiency:
o Streamline financial processes to improve accuracy efficiency and
scalability.
o Implement best practices in financial management and internal controls.
Risk Management:
o Identify and mitigate financial risks ensuring the company s financial health
and stability.
o Develop contingency plans to address potential financial challenges.
Projects Management:
o Monitor Dal Agriculture projects ensuring timely planning and spending.
o Handle Capex approval processes and follow up with project managers to
close advances.
o Report actual spend vs. budgets and provide regular cost-to-completion
forecasts for cash flow planning.
Required Qualities
1. Industry Expertise:
o Preference for strong understanding of the farming/agri-business sector
including its unique financial challenges and opportunities.
2. Technical Proficiency:
o Advanced knowledge of SAP.
o Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.

organizational goals including SAP implementation.

Qualifications & Experience
10-15 years of experience in finance with at least 5 years in a similar role (preferably
in farming/agri-business).
Proven experience working with SAP is mandatory.
Strong people management and organizational skills.
Bachelor s degree in Finance Accounting or a related field (Master s degree or
CPA/CMA certification is a plus).
