The opportunity
The Consulting Service Line has experienced significant growth driven by strategic investments in technology AI managed services alliances innovation and sustainability. This expansion has positioned EY as a leader in delivering transformative client engagements and innovative solutions across various this role the Learning Leader (LL) is responsible for setting the learning strategy for the Canadian Consulting practice while overseeing the deployment of learning that includes both integrating new practitioners into the business and upskilling existing practitioners. The role reports to Canadas L&D Business Partner and Canadas Chief Learning and Development Officer (CLO) and strategically aligns with the Consulting Managing Partner sub-service line and competency leaders Talent Team as well as with the Global and Americas L&D groups.
The Consulting LL is responsible for leading a team in the development and delivery of learning programs while ensuring the overall needs of the business and people are met in the most effective manner. The LL regularly engages with leaders practitioners other Talent functions and subject matter resources across geographies to ensure business alignment and deployment preparedness. The ability to build and nurture relationships is essential to the success of this role. The LL plays a key role in driving innovation in learning methodologies incorporating the latest trends and technologies to enhance the learning experience. This position promotes a continuous learning culture and is accountable for ensuring a consistent high-quality learning experience in conjunction with the career development framework at EY.
This opportunity is a full-time position and occasionally requires early morning or evening commitments.
Your key responsibilities
- Teaming with the business
- Connect with the Consulting leadership team sub-service line and competency leaders and Talent leaders to define learning needs and priorities
- Work with the Consulting practice to deliver high quality L&D initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth
- Execute on and communicate learning plans budget and strategy in an agile manner
- Collaborate with Consulting learning at the Global and Americas levels on strategy learning deliverables methods approaches instructor management processes tools and sharing of ideas and best practices
- Collaborate with the wider Canadian learning team to find efficient effective modes of developing world-class learning and development opportunities and processes
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices within L&D and drive innovation within the team
- Set the strategic priorities for Consulting learning and work with the team to ensure delivery of learning with a particular knowledge of innovative training in matrix organizations
- Translate the needs of the business into learning and development solutions
- Lead Consulting learning budgeting in collaboration with the L&D team and the Consulting operations team
- Make key decisions and suggestions based on a solid understanding of firm and business objectives
- May oversee another Service Line Learning team and advise on learning projects across the firm as needed
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong business acumen and an understanding of the Consulting service line and its strategies and priorities and how they translate into learning and development needs
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and build consensus
- Strong relationship management interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to manage and influence key decision makers

- Excellent organizational project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple issues and tasks

- Proven track record leading teams and executing priorities on time and on budget

- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
What we look for
- 7 years of progressive work experience in Learning
- A bachelors or masters degree in Human Resources Organizational Development Instructional Design Adult Learning or a related field is an asset
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Flexibility to work additional hours accustomed to work in consulting or comparable high demand environments
- Strong background in learning and development certification in learning programs and tools is preferred
- A demonstrated genuine curiosity and a proven track record of staying current with rapidly evolving fields such as AI
- Demonstrated ability and confidence working with technology and learning new software
- Advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $124100 to $206900. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and work location city.
