Job Description

Senior Consultant Physician / Clinical Lead Geriatric Medicine
Employment: Full time or part time, ongoing

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join a progressive service and step into a dual role as Clinical Lead.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of geriatric medicine, working within a state-of-the-art hospital and a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

Salary package up to $430,000 plus
  • Only 1 ½ hours from Melbourne by car!!

About the Role
  • Provide expert inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth geriatric care, including GEM units, Orthogeriatrics, RACF outreach and specialist clinics.
  • Deliver medical leadership as Clinical Lead, supporting advanced trainees, registrars and junior doctors.
  • Partner with the Clinical Director to drive service innovation, including Geri-Connect, and the new RADAR (Rapid Assessment of the Deteriorating Aged at Risk) service.
  • Play a key role in education, clinical governance and workforce development.
  • Commitment to innovative, patient-centred models of care.
Key Selection Criteria Essential
  • Specialist Registration: A qualified medical practitioner registered (or eligible for registration) as a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Experience: Proven 7 years of clinical experience as a Geriatric Medicine Specialist, with demonstrated capacity to manage clinical, non-clinical, and managerial responsibilities.
