Job Description

JOB GOAL:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Inspect the work of guest room attendants. Supervises guest room attendants. This position serves as a trainer. Trainers are responsible for supervising the learning experiences of student in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.


This position is part time coverage on weekends holidays and when other leaders are off.Applicant may work other positions within housekeeping to increase scheduled hours. Morning Shifts and Sundays are required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise subordinate staff members in all functions of Housekeeping.
  • Address guest complaints.
  • Performs needed inventories.
  • Maintain compliance with required training.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.
  • Assigns work and trains personnel in housekeeping duties.
  • Writes requisitions.
  • Reports need for room repair and redecoration.
  • Examines carpets drapes and furniture for stains damage or wear.
  • Inspects and inventories linen and supplies.
  • Records inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies.
  • Perform cleaning duties.
  • Maintain compliance with required training
  • Serve as professional role model.
  • Understand objectives and expectations for the practicum.
  • Assist students in achieving course objectives.
  • Coach and nurture student in performance of skills.
  • Document observations of performance and progress.
  • Report student performance to the Hospitality Program faculty.
  • Serve as a resource for students.
  • Collaborate with faculty.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in a hotel setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting. Frequent (34-66%) climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching crawling lifting up to 50 pounds. Constant (67-100%) standing walking using hands reaching with hands and arms talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONSLICENSES CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Post high school degree.
  • 2 years full time experience in a related hospitality setting.
  • Equivalent education and work related experience.
  • Successful completion of the core assessments of the Skills Advantage WorkKeys Program.
