Job Duties
We are looking for a skilled and innovative Specialist to support Rakutens E2E feature road mapping next-generation network deployments and technology strategy initiatives. The role involves contributing to research standardization and innovation programs aligned with 3GPP/O-RAN collaborating with external partners and ensuring strong intellectual property protection.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Telecommunications Electrical/Electronic Engineering Computer Science or a related discipline.
58 years of hands-on experience in telecom network feature development lab/field validation or RAN integration.
Proven track record in 4G/5G SA feature implementation testing and troubleshooting.
Strong working knowledge of 3GPP RAN specifications (Rel-15 and above) and O-RAN interfaces (F1 E2 A1 etc.).
Experience using test tools (Keysight Anritsu Rohde & Schwarz Spirent etc.) for protocol and RF validation.
Direct experience in KPI measurement log analysis (e.g. QXDM Wireshark) and debugging.
Participation in lab trials IODT/IOT and interoperability testing with vendors/operators.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of 5G (SA RedCap) and emerging 6G concepts.
Familiarity with 3GPP and O-RAN specifications and processes.
Understanding of intellectual property processes and SEP portfolio management/patent creation.
Involvement in 3GPP/O-RAN working groups or contribution to technical reports.
Experience in scripting (Python MATLAB or similar) for test automation and data analysis.
Hands-on experience with network feature testing POCs or lab trials.
Ability to interpret technical standards and contribute to standards discussions.
Experience in technology roadmap tracking and documentation.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external collaborators.
