Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop release and manage work orders based on customer requirements lead times and capacity constraints.
- Collaborate with production engineering and purchasing to ensure material and resource availability for scheduled jobs.
- Translate engineering drawings and specifications into routings and manufacturing steps for machined components.
- Monitor job progress and adjust schedules to address issues such as machine downtime material delays or labor shortages.
- Coordinate with machinists and supervisors to prioritize jobs and resolve production bottlenecks.
- Review customer orders and confirm delivery dates based on capacity and resource planning.
- Maintain accurate production schedules and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
- Analyze shop performance metrics (e.g. on-time delivery throughput WIP) and suggest improvements.
- Ensure that planning data in ERP/MRP systems is accurate and up to date.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lead time reduction productivity and quality.
