The Head Coach is responsible for the overall organization direction supervision and management of a successful NCAA Division III varsity program. The Head Coach plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies to enhance the teams success athlete development and overall program excellence. Leadership coaching expertise and motivational skills will inspire the coaching staff and students to achieve their full potential while fostering a culture of teamwork discipline and sportsmanship.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provide strong visionary leadership to the coaching staff and student athletes.
Attend scouting events evaluate prospects identify and attract talented and qualified student-athletes.
Create and implement comprehensive training programs that focus on skill enhancement physical conditioning and mental preparedness.
Provide expert guidance and technical instruction in sports fundamentals techniques and advanced tactics.
Make real-time decisions during competitions to optimize performance and increase the chances of success.
Maintain open and effective communication channels with students coaching staff NEWMAC college staff parents alumni and the media.
Coordinate non-conference games travel practice schedules and conditioning schedules.
Manage the teams budget allocating resources effectively for travel equipment and other necessities.
Collaborate with College leadership to seek fundraising opportunities and sponsorships to support the programs financial needs.
Maintain compliance with NCAA and NEWMAC and ensure adherence to all relevant rules regulations and ethical standards set forth by governing bodies leagues and institutions.
Foster a team culture that values competitive success as well as integrity diversity and high academic achievement.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
Bachelors Degree preferred
3-5 years of coaching experience at the post-secondary level professional competitive experience or college playing experience required
Experience working with students in a team or sports setting preferred
Previous experience with the college recruitment process preferred
Possession of current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
A valid drivers license
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES May be representative but not all-inclusive of those knowledge skills and abilities commonly associated with the job.
Demonstrated knowledge of technical skills and tactical strategy and the ability to effectively teach them and communicate with players.
Working knowledge ofNCAAandNEWMACrules and an understanding of the philosophy behind them.
The Head Coach must be self-directed motivated and able to work independently and under pressure.
Commitment to being a positive member of the Athletics Department the College community and the ability to influence the athletes to do the same.
