Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a $2 billion Michigan bank in their search for a Financial Reporting Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation review and filing of periodic SEC forms including Forms 10-Q and 10-K and the annual proxy.
- Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements earnings releases proxy statements etc. to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the preparation of federal and state income tax calculations and filings.
- Responsible for the completion of budgets and forecasts.
- Coordinate and assist with external audits and exams.
- Provide accounting assistance during special projects and initiatives such as profitability mergers acquisitions or divestitures.
- Evaluate and improve internal processes.
- Assist with establishment of internal controls and policies.
- Ensure compliance with policies and internal controls is achieved.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures regulatory guidelines and IRS standards.
- Research new accounting standards and evaluate their impact on the Corporation and its financial statements.
- Perform data analysis.
- Assist with staff training and development.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience working for a publicly traded company and knowledgeable in SEC reporting requirements required.
- Minimum of five years of financial institution experience preferred.
