Job Overview
Under the general direction of the Vice Provost the Senior Director Resources and Operations (SDRO) provides direction and vision in support of the Division of Academic Affairs finances and business operations. This includes oversight and the implementation of budgeting policies protocols and objectives established by the Provost and Vice Provost. Work includes strategic financial modeling events and special initiatives project management and guiding the work of others in the following four broad areas: Effective and ethical steward of all fiscal resources of the Division including operating funds self-support funding student fees lottery trust funds and donations. Serve as an advisor to the provost and vice provost on administrative and implementation issues. Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of reports briefings presentations and responses on behalf of the Office of the Provost. The SDRO is responsible for ensuring that the allocations follow current California State University system University and Division practice and policy. The AA Division is the largest in the University it has a general operating fund budget exceeding $100M. The division is comprised of eight major subdivisions including: College of Humanities Arts Behavioral & Social Sciences College of Business Administration College of Education Health & Human Services College of Science & Mathematics Extended Learning Library Instructional & Information Technology Services and the Academic Affairs Administrative Group which includes the offices of Academic Programs and Advising Undergraduate Studies & First Year Programs Faculty Affairs Academic Senate Planning & Academic Resources Graduate Studies & Research Faculty Center and the Provosts Office. The SDROs responsibilities require close interaction with the above units leadership teams and close coordination and guidance for the units budget and personnel staff.
The incumbent in this position has access to confidential information which involves developing preparing and implementing resource-related decisions used by the vice provost provost and other academic leaders and consults with them for determining the division position on sensitive organizational development and financial management issues. The incumbent also works broadly with the universitys managers deans analysts and staff throughout the university including other divisions to ensure that Academic Affairs budgeting and resource allocation processes are managed successfully to accomplish the universitys goals and strategies.

Pay Benefits and Work Schedule
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $11250 - $12500 per month
CSU Classification Salary Range: $5053 - $16221 per month
Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
