Job Description

Toast is driven by building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt take control and get back to what they do best: building the businesses they love.

This is a non-remote position that requires an onsite presence in our Boston office 5 days per week.

As an IT Support Technician at Toast you will provide exceptional technical support to our Toasters in a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will focus on supporting a primarily Mac OS focused environment as well as a small fleet of Windows computers. As an IT Service Desk Analyst you will partake in the in-person support offered to Toasters so they stay up and running with the most productive tools available. You will be the first point of contact for a wide range of IT-related issues demonstrating strong technical expertise excellent customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex problems efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication is required to be successful in this role so we can collaborate cross functionally regarding the needs of all teams at Toast. We are looking for a real self-starter who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and build processes and procedures to evolve the technical experience of our Toasters. About this roll* (Responsibilities)

  • This is a non-remote position and you will be required to work in our Boston office 5 days per week.
  • As the initial point of contact for IT support you will offer prompt and professional assistance to our Boston-based and remote employees through email direct messaging in-person interactions and our service desk.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to our internal teams who are seeking support with their laptop and hybrid office technology.
  • In person support of user endpoints Zoom conferencing spaces peripherals printers and relative hardware.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand their needs and effectively communicate with leadership in order to drive change.
  • Create document and modify technical solutions processes and procedures.
  • Innovate the hybrid working experience by partnering with stakeholders in offices worldwide to ensure we are keeping up with industry trends and raising our standards.

Do you have the right ingredients* (Requirements)

  • Minimum of 3 years of Technical Support Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work on site 5 days a week
  • Experience in supporting MacOS and Windows
  • Experience with Google Workspace Administration
  • Experience with a ServiceNow or other ITIL focused ticketing systems
  • Previous experience with any of the following SaaS: Office 365 Okta Slack and Zoom
  • Previous experience with MDM tools such as Intune and/or Jamf
  • Technical writing experience
  • A/V equipment experience
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for new technology
  • Proven ability to multitask and change priorities as needed
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Special Sauce: (non-essential skills nice to have)

  • Experience working events with A/V equipment
  • Comptia A Security Network
  • Experience with MacOS and Windows software troubleshooting
  • Experience with Laptop/Desktop hardware troubleshooting
  • Experience with basic networking (WiFi/Ethernet) and printer troubleshooting
  • Experience working with executives and executive support teams
