The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) is excited to offer a competitive opportunity to serve as the Assistant Director Eligibility Policy and Outreach The selected competitive candidate will provide exceptional delivery of services to the Eligibility Policy and Outreach Division.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

This position serves as the Eligibility Policy & Outreach (EPO) Division Assistant Director. EPO is comprised of the Eligibility Policy and Civil Rights Units. The EPO AD assists the Division Director in providing division wide executive leadership operational analysis and support strategic direction and program management. They also support the development of quality initiatives and program enhancements. The AD provides subject matter expertise to the Governor the Secretary of Health and Human Resources the Division Director and DMAS Management on complex state and federal eligibility and enrollment and non-discrimination laws and regulations and options available under Medicaid and the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Minimum Qualifications

Competitive candidates will meet these minimum qualifications:

Considerable knowledge and experience with Medicaid and the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) governing laws regulations and policies related to eligibility and enrollment.

Knowledge of the Virginia Case Management System (VaCMS) and Medicaid Enrollment System (MES) and experience implementing new programs within eligibility/enrollment systems including project management skills.

Considerable experience managing supervising and leading interdisciplinary teams in daily operations.

Considerable experience developing planning and implementing projects or programs in a professional setting.

Considerable experience with Microsoft Office - Word Excel PowerPoint Visio and Outlook.

Considerable knowledge and experience interpreting and implementing complex federal and state legislation regulation and guidance.

Extensive experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Experience communicating effectively and working collaboratively with internal and external diverse groups.

Experience developing and providing training on complex topics to various audiences including community members legislators and executive leadership teams.
