Job Description
Responsibilities
- Serve as hands-on Manufacturing Engineer on project team dedicated to assembly of lithium ion and lithium metal batteries
- Design and implement tools and processes to manufacture new products
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead changes to improve product quality
- Identify and implement new equipment and processes
- Develop process parameters for a variety of manufacturing assembly operations including heat sealing laser welding laser cutting ultrasonic welding resistance welding and battery winding
- Train technicians with assembly techniques; some hands-on assembly work may be required
- Perform equipment setup and minor equipment repairs
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions to minimize recurrence
- Assist with product design decisions and changes
- Develop comprehensive work instructions and process controls
- Generate and implement work area layouts / participate in 6S initiatives
- Prepare and present technical presentations to customers as it relates to product line issues
Requirements
- B.S. in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.
- 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with tool design (SolidWorks preferred) process parameter development machining equipment operation and laser welding highly desired
- Ability to interact with various departments and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative thinking self-motivating problem solving skills and a desire to remain current with emerging technologies.
- Solid mechanical aptitude andproficiency in the use of hand tools.
