Masters Degree from an accredited university in Library Science required
Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned preferred.
Library Certification preferred.
5 years of direct experience in Library experience in multiple school settings required.

The Library Media Services Instructional Specialist provides coaching training and instructional support to school librarians/media specialists ensuring alignment with district state and national library standards. This role focuses on campus visits instructional coaching AI integration digital literacy instructional technology implementation and library collection management. The instructional specialist also oversees book order approvals supports professional learning and helps implement the districts Library Standards of Service to enhance campus library programs. This position includes library warehouse support for cataloging library materials and assisting new and remodeled schools with library closures relocations and reopenings following construction.
Conduct librarian campus visits providing coaching on instructional strategies library management and AI integration. The specialist will train and coach librarians on critical thinking information literacy digital citizenship library automation systems collection development policies Board Policy compliance AI tools databases and digital research tools teaching strategies copyright intellectual property and intellectual freedom.
Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and lead district-wide training on AI instructional technology and digital resources.
Support and coordinate district-wide literacy initiatives multicultural events and district-level events.
Support best practices in our library programs by coaching librarians in the use of the District curriculum instructional practices in alignment with our library standards of services state standards and AASL national standards.
Collaborate with district departments to integrate AI into library programming ensuring students gain 21st-century research skills.
Assist in warehouse operations cataloging library materials for campus libraries and ensuring proper processing of books and resources and support school libraries during new school construction and remodeling projects.
