Chatman Center Student Assistant Position Overview:The Chatman Center (CC) Student Assistant aids the Director of the Chatman Center in the planning and implementation of programming. The duties performed assist with the process of fostering an appreciation for the diverse cultures encompassed in Gods creation building community promoting student learning and actualizing the mission and vision of Concordia University Saint Paul.This position is for undergraduate CSP students with at least one full academic year remaining (Fall and Spring semester) Essential Duties: - Assist with set-up execution and breakdown of assigned CC events
- Assist CC and Student Life team in the development and creation of promotional materials that welcome the CSP community such as flyers posters brochures orientation materials and etc.
- Prepare maintain and update social media pages and TV screen content
- Attend trainings as assigned with the Marketing Department
- Monitor the ambiance of the CC which includes music hospitable snacks and drinks and organization of resources
- Attend Student Life meetings and assist with programs at necessary
- Take pictures and videos at assigned CC functions to upload onto social media platforms
- Other duties as assigned
Expectations: - Be able to consistently communicate listen to and interact with students staff and faculty from all backgrounds
- Be able to work in an environment with high traffic of student interactions and involvement
- Desire to work in a diverse steady-paced and multicultural environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Knowledge of current office tools (Microsoft Office Suite Google Apps Email and etc.)
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook Instagram TikTok CSP Website and etc.)
To be eligible to be a CSP student employee one must: - Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
- Have a United States social security number.*
- Haveproper identificationas determined by Form I-9.
- Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
- For summer employment priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.
