Bioethics/Healthcare Ethics Faculty Job Description

Emory University Center for Ethics

The Center for Ethics is a university-wide center that works across the university teaching courses conducting research and developing public programming that engages the broader community. The Center for Ethics vision is to inspire and advance scholarship and education in ethics to ignite the moral imagination of people in all walks of life and to foster lives of moral meaning and ethical engagement.

The role is envisioned as a position at the Assistant or Associate) Professor level with an appointment in the School of Medicine and/or another School and Department relevant to the candidates experience and expertise The salary range is 90K to 100K with actual salary dependent on past work experience. The successful candidate will work full time with the bioethics and non-bioethics faculty in the Center for Ethics. The primary responsibilities of this on-campus position will involve teaching at the graduate and healthcare professional level (medicine nursing etc.) publishing research and providing service to and/or developing programming for the Center Emory University and the greater community. The Center welcomes applicants with wide-ranging scholarly interests in bioethics especially clinical ethics the ethics of AI in health contexts neuroethics research ethics and/or ethics of health disparities.

There is no requirement for extramural funding for this position but the Center supports the development of externally funded scholarship and encourages applications from those able and interested in securing extramural funding.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
