About the role

As a Support Coordinator you will work closely with recipients to navigate the NDIS and interpret their individual packages; it is your role to ensure they are getting the most out of their NDIS plans.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • supporting and empowering recipients to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives
  • coordinating a variety of services for recipients to support them to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within the community
  • engage with and manage recipients key stakeholders (including government agencies community and clinical service providers and families) you will ensure that the supports and services are leveraged not duplicated
  • work with recipients to strengthen their ability to coordinator their own supports to live their best life.

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:

  • a genuine interest in mental health and the disability sector (highly desirable)
  • a working knowledge of the NDIS
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • a commitment to best practice
  • experience working in a team environment
  • ability to quickly and effectively engage recipients
  • ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities & individuals

Role Requirements

  • certificate IV in mental health or minimum 2 years experience in the mental health sector
  • current nationally recognised first aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain)
  • a current minimum P1 C class Queensland drivers licence
  • a roadworthy registered and comprehensively insuredcar
  • a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Quality Safety & You completion certificate
