Opportunity
WEM has a rewarding opportunity for a Civil Site Engineer to join the team.
We have a strong portfolio of work with multiple projects underway across Sydneys Northwest and Southwest Hunter and Illawarra regions. This role requires travel to job sites across the area predominantly in the Northwest & Southwest region.
The Site Engineer is responsible for assisting and working with the Site Team (Site Manager Project Manager Supervisor and Surveyor) to help achieve successful delivery of the project. The Engineer is also responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding the project including but not limited to; clients council inspectors superintendents designers and the general public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise your thorough understanding of drawings specifications and quality WHS and environmental requirements for all site-related activities.
- Support the implementation of the project quality WHS and environmental management plans on all projects.
- Assist with daily project monitoring for toolbox inspections checklists documentation and record keeping.
- Assist with the monitoring and updating of the construction program and site activity.
- Ensure materials are procured in advance of the construction program.
- Assist in monitoring daily work activities to maximise the utilisation of plant and resources.
- Implement improvements for managing site-related costs.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or working towards
- 1-2 years previous experience as an Engineer in the civil industry ideally within residential subdivisions/bulk earthworks
- A current White Card & Drivers Licence
- A strong commitment to health safety environment and quality standards and practices
- Excellent relationship-building influencing and negotiation skills
- A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to show initiative and take ownership
- Strong communication and organisation skills including strong attention to detail
- Strategic and analytical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve
- Confidence in using technology including CRM-based applications and proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
