As a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Staff Nurse at St. Bernardine Medical Center you will be an essential part of a dedicated team committed to delivering safe high-quality postoperative care. Under the guidance of a Nurse Manager and in collaboration with fellow nurses you will continuously assess patients conditions interpret vital data and provide age-appropriate interventions. Key Responsibilities
Deliver exemplary patient-centered care leveraging the nursing processAssessment Planning Intervention Documentation and Evaluationto meet each patients post-anesthesia needs.
Consistently apply AIDET (Acknowledge Introduce Duration Explanation Thank You) principles in all patient and team interactions to uphold our high standards for patient satisfaction.
Monitor vital signs maintain patient airways using appropriate suction and reintubation techniques and promptly document all interventions including medications.
Interpret operative and anesthesia records to detect and address potential complications communicating any critical changes in condition to the anesthesiologist.
Supervise treatments and procedures performed by other staff knowing when to intervene and how to respond to adverse reactions.
Initiate patient charges for supplies and medications to ensure accurate billing and maintain appropriate stock levels.
