Saint Joseph East also includes the Womens Hospital at Saint Joseph East which is dedicated to supporting the well-being of women in Central and Eastern Kentucky and serves a 16-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Provides nursing care according to the nursing process including assessment diagnosis planning implementing and evaluating. Implements appropriate nursing care interventions. Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and nursing evidence-based practice.

Required Education For Staff Job Levels:
Associates Degree in Nursing
Required Licensure and Certifications:
Current and Active RN License to Practice in the State of Kentucky
Current and Active Basic Life Support Certification Through the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
ONS/ONCC Radiation Therapy Certificate
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
Required Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Upon Hire Obtain an Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Radiation Therapy Certificate within 6 months of hire IF 2 years of radiation oncology experience has been met.
If 2 years of radiation oncology experience has not been met then the ONS Radiation Therapy Certificate will be obtained within 6 months after the RN has met 2 years of radiation oncology experience.
Radiation Oncology RNs NEW to oncology must complete the ONS Cancer Basics Course within 90 days of hire
36 oncology-related continuing nursing education contact hours every three years unless an oncology national certification is held.
2 continuing education activities related to breast cancer annually.
