Job Description
Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.50
Responsible for the planning and supervision of daily departmental objectives communicated by QA management:
- Performs inspections and tests on raw materials in-process materials and finished product
- Generates the appropriate documentation records and reports for Management
- Supports Quality and manufacturing as needed
- Ensures all quality standards are being met throughout the manufacturing process
- Generates various quality and process performance reports
- Able to understand the process flow and how raw materials are consumed
- Generates/maintains database for in-process and final inspection information
- Performs internal audits within each department to maintain ISO 9001 requirements
- Identifies and record non-conforming product
- Performs cure tests and records data per requirements.
- Performs physical property tests on competitor and trial products
- Able to train Quality Techs/Specialist as deemed appropriate in the Lab
- Performs calibration on small measuring tools such as micrometers calipers dial indicators and all other relevant quality gauges/lab equipment
- Communicates with customers to resolve quality concerns or claim resolution
- Issue corrective and preventative actions as deemed appropriate
- Performs root cause analysis and provide resolution to quality problems
- Responsible for identifying non-conformances and making dispositions on raw materials
- Able to trend data and organize reports for internal and external customers
- Perform internal and external project trials for raw material or Vendor acceptance
- Assure that all manufactured products meet specifications and customer requirements are being met and exceeded
- Responsible for training of all new hires on the QMS and Intro to ISO 9001
- Has a general understanding of quality inspection system and provide support as deemed appropriate
- Able to utilize 5S system in a laboratory/manufacturing setting
Experience:
- 5 years of quality or suitable manufacturing experience
- Experience writing or revising work instructions or SOPs
- Experience using small measuring tools such as micrometers calipers and dial indicators
- Experience working in a laboratory setting engaging in mechanical or destructive testing
- Data entry and lab analysis capability
- ISO 9001 experience preferred
- Six Sigma experience preferred (Green or Blackbelt)
- Root cause Analysis experience preferred
and specialized skills profile:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent GED required
- Strong skillset in Microsoft Office to include: Word Outlook Access and PowerPoint
and Behavioral profile:
- The Specialist will be exposed to noise conditions exceeding 87 decibels
- The Specialist will be exposed to harsh climate conditions within the plant which would include seasonality shifts in a non-temp controlled setting.
- Specialist may be exposed to harsh chemicals or fumes in a laboratory setting which may require appropriate PPE
- Specialist must be able to multi-task with limited supervision
- Specialist must be able to complete Lab Testing/Projects in a timely manner as defined by Management
Profile:
- The English language will serve as primary in all written and verbal communication.
- Additional languages to include German and Spanish are complimentary but not required.
and Physical Requirement profile:
- The work location is Barnwell SC
- The position operates in a manufacturing/laboratory setting
- Specialist will be required to stoop kneel and use both hands for reaching and able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Walking throughout the facility is required to accomplish daily task which includes inspections monitoring and testing.
- The schedule is 7am to 7pm rotating shift including alternating weekends.

- External stakeholders include: Vendors Customers 3rd Party Labs Swiss Krono Plants.
