Located in Pearl Harbor Hawaii
The Rigger Helper assists Riggers during rigging operations and ensures proper use and maintenance of all rigging equipment. Youll play a vital role in lifting moving and securing heavy equipment machinery and ship components aboard U.S. Navy vessels and in shops. Your responsibilities include:
Assisting in the check-in/out and proper marking of Weight Handling Equipment (WHE).
Helping select proper lifting gear and rigging equipment for each task.
Handling all types and sizes of objects using cranes chain falls rope falls gin poles shear legs skids rollers jacks and par buckling.
Supporting riggers in daily operations while adhering to all safety precautions and terminology.
Serving as Boat Coxswain ensuring safe boat operations and PPE compliance for all crew members.
Assisting in the receipt mooring and departure of vessels.
Following environmental protection Standard Operating Procedures.
Working in confined spaces inclement weather and around hazards such as chemicals sharp edges and fall risks.
Handling loads up to 100 pounds (average 50 lbs) climbing ladders kneeling stooping and maneuvering in tight quarters as needed.
Performing additional duties as assigned in support of site operations and safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
One (1) year of experience under the guidance of a Rigger or relevant military experience.
Basic knowledge of rigging principles methods and terminology.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and professionally with co-workers and leadership.
Must hold a valid drivers license and qualify to operate government/company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Fleet Vehicle Safety Manual.
Preferred Requirements:
Prior maritime or Navy rigging experience.
Familiarity with small boat operations and crane signaling.
