Job Description Summary
Nationwide Investments employs a research-driven team-oriented and results-focused investment process to manage our clients portfolios. International Research and Strategy organizes and drives a coordinated effort across asset classes to research and analyze non-U.S. developed and developing economies and markets. The team conducts the non-U.S. country and sovereign risk research for Nationwide Investments and associated market opportunities. The Emerging Markets Research - Senior Investment Analyst will be responsible on developing investment themes within the emerging markets space including sovereigns quasi-sovereigns and corporate fixed income securities. This role supports Nationwide investments in profiling developed markets country risk factors for our existing and growing non-US cross-asset investment portfolio.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Works independently with limited oversight has an experienced understanding of asset class research and analysis.
Performs research and analysis on issuers within the asset class in support of the teams investment decision-making process.
Identifies risk and return drivers develops and models forward-looking scenarios analyzes relative value and provides investment recommendations for positioning within assigned sectors.
Communicates analysis and investment theses through use of written reports presentations conversations and market meetings.
Evaluates changes in the economic regulatory legislative and competitive business environments that impact investment fundamentals valuations and positioning within client portfolios.
Builds relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate the analysis of investment opportunities.
Collaborates successfully with other Nationwide Investment groups to advance our clients best interests.
May mentor more junior members of the team.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Investment Professional
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelors Degree; MBA or CFA preferred
Experience: Four to seven years of related investment experience.
Knowledge Abilities and Skills:
Experienced understanding of Emerging Markets Research
Solid data analysis/management skills and some coding capability
Proficient in Excel; prior Bloomberg experience is a plus
Demonstrates presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish and organize work priorities
Results driven self-motivated and intellectually inquisitive
Positive hardworking pro-active and professional
Highly collaborative and team oriented
Critical and creative thinker willing to express opinions and views
Organized detailed and process oriented.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
Capable of working independently and uses some judgement with oversight required for overall task
Other criteria including leadership skills competencies and experiences may take precedence.
