Job Summary:
This role is for a Sterile Processing Technician working evening shifts (2 PM - 10:30 PM) for a six-week assignment. The technician will be responsible for the sterilization decontamination assembly and wrapping of surgical trays case cart preparation high-level disinfection and scrubbing. Experience in various surgical specialties is required and the position involves a high daily caseload.

Responsibilities:
- Sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assembly and wrapping of surgical instrument trays.
- Case cart preparation.
- High-level disinfection of instruments and equipment.
- Scrubbing procedures.
- Maintaining inventory and supply levels.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Adhering to infection control protocols.
- Working in inpatient outpatient and trauma settings.
- Handling a high volume of surgical cases across various specialties (Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics Implants; Ophthalmology preferred).
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing.
- CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification.
- Experience in inpatient outpatient and trauma settings.
- Experience with sterilization decontamination assembly/wrap case cart high-level disinfection (HLD) and scrub techniques.
- Experience with a variety of surgical specialties (Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics Implants).
- Experience with surgical case volumes of 65 cases and 1200 trays daily.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with SPM (Surgical Process Management) software.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Ophthalmology experience.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend work is required.
- No floating between units.
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed; case-by-case consideration possible.
- 40 guaranteed hours per week.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required (no exemptions accepted).
- Level II Trauma Center environment.
Scheduling:
- Evening shifts (2 PM - 10:30 PM) 5 days a week.
- Six-week assignment.
- Shift assignment is fixed.
