The Nurse Manager assumes responsibility for overseeing and driving quality in all aspects of nursing on the project. They will function as a member of the leadership team and handle the required duties as they pertain to patient care administration and contractual obligations. Under the general supervision from the Chief Medical Officer they provide professional nursing leadership and perform regular nursing duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Responsible for ensuring the development implementation and application of policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient nursing care.
- Monitors audits and evaluates the quality of nursing care provided.
- Develops strategies objectives and plans for outpatient and inpatient services. Develops and implements short- and long-term goals that are in line with the mission statement and values of International SOS Government Medical Services Inc.
- Directs the activities of nursing personnel consistent with those in the Performance Work Statement.
- Responsible for the supervision and implementation of the Clinical Quality Assurance Plan
- Responsible for the supervision of the Medical Reception Department.
- Responsible for supervision and coordination of emergency and surgical services.
- Responsible for supervision of Occupational Health and Medical Surveillance Programs
- Assists in the review of new hire medical credentials.
- Maintains open line of communication with the Fire department.
- Coordinates mass casualty training between the hospital and fire department.
- Provides learning opportunities for the basic EMTs working in the Fire Department.
Personnel Management/Staffing
- Identifies staffing needs and continuously monitors staffing levels and adjusts as appropriate to meet various clinical care and operational objectives.
- Defines nursing personnel requirements and position competencies for the nursing department.
- Ensures effective utilization of staff and departmental resources.
- Monitors overtime requirements in accordance with minimum and optimal staffing levels and applicable surge requirements (MASCAL overnight admission etc.
- Develops and manages in-service educational programs for relevant staff when internal workflow changes occur.
- Coordinates orientation programs and refresher courses to train and update skills of the nursing service personnel.
- Devises and maintains strategies to ensure nursing professional development.
- Responsible for the development of training manuals and materials.
- Evaluates employee performance against hospital departmental and personal goals and objectives.
- Provides corrective counseling with appropriate documentation to staff members when necessary.
- Assists with coordination of medical transfers for higher level of care.
Leadership
- Demonstrates visibility and accessibility to staff by making regular rounds staff communication and meetings.
- Collaborates with nursing and medical staff in the development and measurement of performance of standards of patient care.
- Creates an environment that fosters a positive working culture and innovative patient care.
- Provides clinical leadership and expertise; serves as technical support and as a resource
- Actively attends and participates in department head and other essential committees of the medical department.
- Assess and communicates departmental need for equipment and supplies.
- Participates and promotes continuous quality improvement and management programs implementing and communicating corrective action plans and interventions.
- Completes required organizational compliance education including assigned requirements that are client-specified for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications :
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Requires a current unrestricted US licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a clinical nurse.
- Requires 5 years relevant management experience.
- Requires at least 2 years in outpatient and/or clinic setting.
- 2 years in the intensive care or emergency room setting is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Clinical specialty certifications and/or advanced education is optimal.
Experience preferred:
- Previous experience in a Military Hospital.
- Previous International Nursing Management Assignment.
- Experience with Joint Commission International or JCAHO regulations.
- Experience and/or working knowledge of Medical Command.
- Previous experience with Mass Casualty planning and execution.
- Experience with Occupational Health and Medical Surveillance programs.
- Experience in leading nurses creating a vision for nursing and being an advocate for the professional nurse yet achieving hospital and organization wide goals.
- Demonstrated ability to effect good medical and nursing staff relations working with qualified physicians and nurses.
- Ability to work effectively with all health care disciplines.
Education Required:
- Graduate of an approved accredited school of professional nursing.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

- Must be able to read write & speak English to effectively communicate

- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- US DOD CNACI or the ability to obtain one is required.
- A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data.
