Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Cardiovascular Stroke and Chronic Disease this role will have overall responsibility for the management of the stroke and telehomecare teams including the human financial and material resources required to meet the patient and family care needs within this service.  With a focus on patient and family experience the Clinical Services Manager will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of best practice care within a safe and compassionate environment while maintaining an engaged workforce through a supportive and coaching style.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader with a vision to create a learning culture empower staff develop processes and remove barriers that will enable best in class patient care and experience.  The ideal candidate is an experienced leader that has a strong business acumen supports innovation and has an appetite for data and analytics to support strategic priorities.  This is an exciting time to join the stroke team as we advance the vision of stroke care at Osler.  Candidates will demonstrate commitment to the Osler core values of respect excellence service compassion innovation and collaboration. 

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement the operational and program strategic plans and/or initiatives in collaboration with the program leadership team towards a refreshed stroke service at Osler
  • Establish and maintain a high-functioning inter-professional practice climate that embraces high quality and continuous improvement and ensures that patient care is provided with compassion and in accordance with professional practice and corporate standards.
  • Identifies areas for improvements secures resources and implements efficient processes/ structure required for safe and efficient operations.
  • Assess relevant data through monitoring of the stroke dashboard and other quality reports and work with teams to address and gaps or opportunities by sharing outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Educator Resource Nurses staff and partners in improving practice processes adding value raising standards improving effectiveness and delivering high team performance.
  • Support and action staff engagement survey results
  • Hire mentor and coach staff performance as determined by human resource policies union agreements legislation and standards of practice.
  • Develop monitor manage and evaluate the efficient and effective use of financial resource allocations
  • Develop and maintain effective interdepartmental relationships and participate in activities that contribute to the effective function of the team the program and the organization.
  • Facilitate collaborative bidirectional communication with staff physicians and partners with respect to unit activities using a variety of strategies
  • Enhance community linkages and partnerships and support the regional stroke program by participating in the acute care working group

Qualifications :

  • Must possess a current license in a Regulated Health Profession.
  • Undergraduate degree required Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years recent management/ leadership experience preferably in stroke or neurological care or a related skillset
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Ontario Stroke system and the impact of the Canadian Stroke Best Practices guidelines on patient care goals strategies and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships within and external to the organization
  • Ability to establish and maintain an engaged workforce with a service-oriented focus
  • Highly motivated and self-directed team player
  • Demonstrated effective leadership planning and project management skills
  • Excellent oral interpersonal and written communication skills are required
  • Demonstrated understanding of safe and efficient patient flow and quality improvement processes
  • Established reputation as a consultative and collaborative leader
  • Ability to travel between campuses


Additional Information :

Hours: Currently Days 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

ANNUAL SALARY:
Minimum: $118716.00
Maximum: $148395.00
