ePeople is partnering with an independent growth-minded CPA firm in Vancouver to appoint an Audit Manager within their public company practice. You will lead complex audits for listed and pre-IPO clients coach a capable team and be a key voice on audit quality methodology and client service. The firm offers the breadth of a national platform with the autonomy and culture of a mid-sized practice ideal for a manager who enjoys hands-on leadership and visible impact.
Own a portfolio of public company audits from planning to completion delivering work under Canadian Auditing Standards and PCAOB requirements with reporting frameworks spanning IFRS and US GAAP.
Lead risk assessment scoping and audit strategy; design and oversee data-driven testing that focuses on the areas that matter most.
Review working papers and financial statements challenge assumptions and ensure files meet internal quality thresholds and regulatory expectations.
Manage engagement economics budgets WIP timetables and resource planning while keeping stakeholders informed and issues unblocked.
Coach develop and performance-manage a pod of seniors and staff (circa six team members) creating a supportive environment with clear standards and on-the-job feedback.
Present findings to finance leadership audit committees and boards; draft management letters with practical implementable recommendations.
Collaborate with technical tax and advisory colleagues on complex accounting matters group audits and component reporting.
Contribute to proposals and practice development helping the firm win and retain high-quality public company mandates.
Canadian CPA designation.
5 years of external audit experience with public company clients in a Canadian CPA firm including recent experience operating at that level.
At least 1 2 years managing people and engagements with a track record of coaching and file ownership.
Technical fluency across CAS and PCAOB with strong working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
Excellent project management stakeholder communication and judgement under pressure.
Comfortable working hybrid from Vancouver (on-site presence required); right to work in Canada.
Exposure to SOX environments SEC-related reporting or multi-component group audits.
Sector experience common to the Vancouver market (for example technology resources or life sciences).
Familiarity with data analytics tools to enhance audit efficiency.
Experience from Big Four or leading national/mid-tier firms is welcomed.
