As the Director of Housekeeping at Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park you will lead all aspects of the Housekeeping Department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness luxury and guest satisfaction. You will oversee a team responsible for maintaining guest rooms public areas back-of-house spaces and laundry operations all while upholding Fairmonts commitment to excellence.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director Operations responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Direct mentor and manage the Housekeeping Team including managers supervisors room attendants public area attendants housepersons and laundry staff
- Recruit train evaluate and develop the housekeeping team to ensure a motivated and efficient team
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest luxury cleanliness standards
- Develop and implement SOPs for cleaning procedures quality control and safety
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms public areas and back-of-house to ensure brand standards are consistently met
- Manage daily schedules staffing levels and shift coverage to ensure efficient operation
- Proactively address guest concerns and requests related to housekeeping services ensuring prompt and thoughtful resolution
- Ensure compliance with health safety sanitation and hygiene standards as per local regulations and Fairmont standards & guidelines
- Implement safety training programs and enforce the use of PPE and safe chemical handling procedures
- Ensure adherence to sustainability and environmental programs in waste reduction and linen reuse
- Oversee procurement inventory and proper usage of housekeeping supplies chemicals linens and equipment
- Maintain linen and amenity par levels and oversee vendor relationships for laundry and housekeeping supplies
- Prepare and manage the departments operating budget ensuring cost control
- Perform all other related duties as required
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred
- Minimum 57 years of housekeeping leadership experience preferably in a luxury environment
- Proven ability to lead large teams and maintain the highest level of service standards
- Proficiency in hotel management systems
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required
