Our client is seeking an Attorney for its Bankruptcy Department admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Georgia. The attorney in this role will oversee and collaborate with support staff in drafting and reviewing all documentation related to bankruptcy matters. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the bankruptcy process including plan confirmation motions for relief contested matters adversary proceedings and related legal proceedings. The position may require travel to courts throughout Georgia as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Represent creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.
- Review statutorily required notices correspondence pleadings and other legal documents.
- Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently.
- Attend and argue motions and hearings before Georgia courts.
- Participate in mediation sessions.
- Provide legal counsel to clients throughout the bankruptcy process.
Industry Experience:
Bankruptcy/insolvency law specifically representing creditors
Experience in a law firm or similar setting
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- Admission to the bar in Georgia (State Federal and Bankruptcy courts) with CM/ECF filing credentials.
- Ability to travel to courts throughout Georgia as needed
- Minimum of two years experience representing creditors in bankruptcy/insolvency matters.
- Strong knowledge of secured creditor issues.
- Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and with senior management.
