Turner & Townsend is seeking a forward-thinking Lead Design & Construction Project Manager to oversee a flagship commercial interior fit-out for a prominent technology client. This 125K sq ft project features innovative design advanced workplace technology and a highly sophisticated environment. The role is highly client-facing and requires strong coordination across internal teams and external consultants to deliver a future-forward workspace that reflects the highest standards in design and execution.
This hybrid position requires working onsite with the client in Sunnyvale three days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of a large-scale high-end commercial interior fit-out project from concept through close-out.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders consultants and project teams.
- Coordinate across design engineering workplace and construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee design development and ensure alignment with client vision workplace strategy and sustainability goals.
- Hire and manage general contractors and specialty consultants.
- Monitor construction progress ensuring adherence to schedule budget and quality standards.
- Manage project documentation reporting and communication workflows.
- Provide weekly updates on project status risks staffing and financials.
- Support proposal development and attend client interviews to present service offerings.
- Ensure integration of advanced workplace technologies and innovative design solutions.
- Track and manage project budgets forecasts and invoicing using industry-standard tools.
- Mentor and manage junior project team members supporting their professional development.
- Identify opportunities for additional services and contribute to business development efforts.
- Ensure compliance with local codes permitting processes and sustainability standards.
- Facilitate internal coordination across departments including IT security workplace and operations.
- Represent the project team in high-level meetings with client leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Anticipate and proactively resolve project challenges conflicts and scope changes.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors consultants and contractors to ensure project success.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Architecture Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing commercial real estate projects ideally high-end interior fit-outs.
- Proven success delivering complex design-forward projects for tech or corporate clients.
- Strong understanding of the full construction lifecycle and local market dynamics.
- Experience managing client relationships and leading cross-functional teams.
- Highly proficient with workplace technology and digital collaboration tools; able to navigate design platforms project management systems and tech-enabled environments with ease.
- Familiarity with workplace technology integration and sustainable building practices.
- Excellent communication presentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and financial tracking systems.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex organizational structures.
- Consulting experience and business development capabilities are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a client-facing role with executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex project environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing high-performance teams and delivering results.
Additional Information :
The salary range for this full-time role is $150K-$180K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range depending on candidates experience and qualifications.
