Overview:
The International Trade Administration (ITA) is seeking a Data Scientist/Statistician to support its mission of strengthening U.S. economic competitiveness through robust data-driven supply chain research and this role you will play a key part in transforming raw data into actionable insights that inform federal policy and strategic decision-making in support of U.S. industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-depth data analysis of inbound outbound and intra-agency datasets to uncover insights related to supply chain resilience and trade trends.
Identify assess and help resolve data quality issues across multiple platforms and systems.
Lead or support data mapping extraction transformation and loading (ETL) activities.
Design and implement data management workflows that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Develop custom data visualizations reports and tools to communicate findings effectively.
Respond to ad hoc data requests from stakeholders supporting both recurring and special projects.
Assist in testing and validation of data systems and analytics products.
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mathematics statistics economics operations research or a related quantitative field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in data science statistics analytics or a related field.
Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Python R or SQL.
Familiarity with data visualization platforms (e.g. Power BI Tableau or similar).
Experience with ETL processes and data cleansing techniques.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting federal agencies or large-scale public data projects.
Understanding of supply chain concepts trade policy or economic development.
Working knowledge of cloud-based data environments (e.g. Azure AWS).
Knowledge of data governance privacy and security best practices.
