As our Operator Gr2 Mining of your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Follow SHE standards and specific legislation related to vehicle control.
- Adhere read and sign all appropriate work instructions and standards.
- Attend Safety meetings with the supervisor and team and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.
- Effectively identify hazards and safety deviations in the area of responsibility.
- Apply SLAM/HIRA/Mini HIRA correctly and report any safety or health-related issues.
- Take all necessary safety precautions when working on auxiliary equipment.
- Active participation in SLAMs HPHs relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Equipment Operations
- Operate and control equipment and vehicles safely to transport materials components and equipment as instructed ensuring compliance with procedures specifications requirements timeframes and budgetary limits.
- Communicate with mine personnel to coordinate and ensure safe operations.
- Prepare and load production areas according to operational plans.
- Equipment Inspection
- Conduct thorough pre-shift and walk-around inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety complying with regulations and prescribed standards to prevent damage injury or financial loss.
- Report deviations or defects in equipment and components to the supervisor to ensure timely remedial actions.
- Assistance
- Provide support to supervisors and co-workers within your area of competence or when delegated adhere to company policies to achieve functional objectives.
- Training and Compliance:
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to the safe and efficient operation of auxiliary mining equipment. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond to emergencies following established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other members of the mining team including operators supervisors and maintenance personnel to ensure a cohesive and productive work environment.
This role is in Mining (MIN) department on a band P6 level reporting to the Supervisor
Qualifications :
- Grade 12/N3 Technical
- SA Drivers Licence
- Valid Dover Certificate (when required)
- Relevant HME Licences
- Competency A (advantageous)
Technical Knowledge
- Entry-level role requiring practical experience through internships or relevant work along with applicable licenses or certifications.
- Understand relevant equipment and component functionality of systems e.g. Collision prevention fire suppression system etc.
- Knowledge of Mine traffic rules.
- Radio Loading Lock-out and Pre-shift inspection procedures.
- Safety standards.
- Company policies and procedures Familiarity with the layout of the work section.
- Understanding of mining equipment and its operation.
- Adherence to safety standards in the workplace.
- Capability to identify and solve problems related to equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Understand safety health and environment as well as legislative statutory and regulatory requirements.
