We are seeking a skilled enthusiastic and highly professional Assistant Spa Manager to help oversee grooming operations in our 5-star high-end dog salon on Newbury Street. Our ideal Assistant Manager will seamlessly support and assist in training our skin and coat technicians as well as successfully interact with our clientele. Experience with dog grooming is essential as is the willingness to undergo additional training in our unique products and techniques as appropriate. This is a stepping-stone opportunity for an ambitious person who loves dogs and is seeking a career in a sophisticated emergent brand.

- Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Help create a positive collaborative dog-friendly workspace where dogs feel safe and cared for and your team feels empowered.
- Help with daily grooming operations spa organization and general facility cleanliness.
- Educate dog parents and make every client visit enjoyable for dogs and their people.
- Interact and communicate closely with other staff to ensure client and pet needs and concerns are understood and addressed.
- Respond and troubleshoot customer issues and promptly address with clients & coworkers.
- Ensure facility exceeds safety and cleanliness regulations.
- Knowledge of all services offered on site.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum of 2 years dog grooming experience required.
- Ability to work at least one weekend day.
- Passion for dogs and grooming.
- Enthusiasm energy and ambition.
- Ability to speak and write in English.
- Ability and desire to interact with clients and their pets.
- Ability to manage staff in a busy salon environment.
- Ability to create schedules and work with scheduling software.
- Comfort with a variety of dog breeds and temperaments.
- Communicate well with people and animals.
- Able to work around pet hair and dander.
- Willingness to be educated about our products and services.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Reliable transportation to Newbury Street in Boston (we are on the Green Line of the T).
- Physically capable of standing on feet for long periods of time
