RESPEC is seeking an Early Career Underground Storage Engineer in our Rapid City SD location.
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Early Career Underground Storage Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of energy development and operational projects. This role primarily focuses on the midstream and downstream energy sectors working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers geologists and business professionals. Youll contribute to both surface and subsurface infrastructure projects applying your engineering expertise in areas such as hydraulic analysis permitting compliance deep geotechnical assessment 3D modeling and system design.

Key responsibilities include:
- Perform engineering analyses including geological characterization hydraulic modeling and equipment sizing
- Develop and review 3D models technical drawings specifications and assessments for energy infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
- Support project planning design and execution phases
- Communicate technical findings clearly through reports and presentations
Qualifications :
Required
- Bachelors degree in mechanical civil petroleum geological or chemical engineering
- 0-5 years of engineering experience relevant to the key responsibilities
- Strong foundation in engineering principles and their real-world application
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in engineering software and programming tools (e.g. AutoCAD Python Latex)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with sound judgment
Preferred:
- Masters degree in mechanical civil petroleum geological or chemical engineering
- 26 years of experience in a role related to the key responsibilities
- Prior experience in the oil and gas or broader energy industry
- Registered Engineer-in-Training
