Project Manager Critical Infrastructure-Housing And Transportation Administration-Mount Sinai Health System-Full Time-Days
Position Summary:
The Project Manager (PM) role reporting to the Director of Critical Infrastructure maintains and operates IT Critical Infrastructure (MEP and Fire Protection) primarily in the health care environment
Responsibilities- Manages Preventive Maintenance program for IT Critical Infrastructure UPS and batteries systems data center cooling fire protection
- Manages and coordinates Critical System/components upgrades or replacements
- Responds to Critical MEP systems alarms and incidents including weekends
- Prepares Scope of Work and Method of Procedures for Critical MEP shutdowns
- Manages vendor service contracts and preventive maintenance schedules
- Manage and monitor Building Management System (BMS) related to data center server and network equipment rooms.
- Coordinates the activities of outside architectural and engineering design consultants
- Manages the A/E team and be the liaison between the consultants and user groups
- Ensures that the A/E team is meeting all regulatory requirements and that the budget and schedule are adhered to.
- Monitors the progress of construction relative to schedule cost and quality
- Effectively monitors contractors safety management program including PPE ILSMs and ICRA
- Effectively monitors activities of construction schedule as the Owners representative
- Minimizes the disruption to hospital patients staff and service due to construction
- Reviews bid documents drawings and coordinates pre-bid activities
- Conducts periodic project management meetings with architectural and engineering consultant contractors subcontractors and user clients
- Makes timely decisions in the field as unexpected conditions arise
- Monitors contractors compliance with plans specifications and applicable codes
- Reviews and approves applications for payment change orders and purchase requisitions
- Schedules shut downs tie-ins and in-house activities with Engineering
- Coordinates with Procurement for the purchase of furniture and equipment
- Coordinates and schedules work with other departments
- Coordinates move-in activities with user departments move coordinators
- Maintains complete project files through project close out
- Informs supervisor of status and issues of construction projects
- Examines construction work reports findings follows up with corrective work and prepares and monitors punch lists
- Responsible for managing costs to budget using standardized finance report
- Occasional weekend or afterhours coverage required
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements:
- 2 years experience with emphasis on health care design and construction. Should have the capabilities to run a construction project if required. AutoCAD experience a plus.
- BS degree
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
None as requirement but a valid NYS architecture registration or professional engineering license is a plus
Computer Skills:
- Comfortable with the use of Word Excel (preparation of spreadsheets) Microsoft Project Power Point. Should be able to produce spreadsheets word documents and reports with ease.
General Skills and Competencies:
- The Project Manager should be a creative person with architecture or engineering background who is detail oriented organized has excellent communication skills and excellent oral and written capabilities.
- Should have experience in the design and construction of hospitals and health care facilities as well as in commercial design and construction and should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Should be well versed in NYC Building Codes as well as the appropriate NFPA codes.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $87692.00 - $131538.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience education and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
