Our client a leading financial services company is seeking an I&CM Data and AI Risk Governance Lead to support enterprise risk programs related to data and artificial intelligence. This high-impact role based in New York NY offers the opportunity to collaborate across legal technical and business teams while driving risk management strategies for innovative technologies.
Position Overview
The Risk Governance Lead will oversee Data and AI risk initiatives within the Investments & Capital Markets division helping to shape policies evaluate risk and ensure compliance across enterprise functions.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal business and technology teams to identify and communicate risks and support informed decision-making.
Risk Evaluation & Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments on data management and AI initiatives; develop and implement mitigation plans.
Policy & Framework Development: Create and maintain AI governance policies aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
AI Ethics & Compliance: Champion ethical AI practices ensuring transparency fairness and accountability across AI programs.
Security Integration: Work closely with InfoSec to manage AI-specific security concerns and enhance data protection strategies.
Training & Awareness: Lead training efforts to build enterprise awareness around AI and data risk best practices.
Reporting & Metrics: Develop KPIs KRIs and reporting frameworks to monitor risk exposure and governance performance.
Qualifications
8 years of relevant experience and a bachelors degree (or equivalent)
6 years in operational risk with expertise in tech information or model risk
management
25 years of leadership experience
In-depth knowledge of data governance and AI technologies (ML NLP LLMs computer vision)
Familiarity with regulatory and industry frameworks (e.g. GDPR CCPA NIST ISO/IEC IEEE)
Strong communication stakeholder management and analytical skills
