TASK FORCE: Personnel Management and Administration

SUMMARY:
The Mayors Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City governments chief financial agency. OMBs staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayors expense and capital budgets which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
OMBs Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Equity and Inclusion (EEO/DEI) is a confidential office that is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant Federal NY State and NY City laws that prohibit workplace discrimination retaliation and harassment based on actual or perceived membership in a protected class including the intake investigation and resolution of EEO-related inquiries and investigations. The EEO/DEI Office is also charged with promoting consistency and fairness in agency employment practices and driving diversity equity and inclusion in all aspects of agency work.
The EEO/DEI Office is also responsible for administering the agencys reasonable accommodation process working to resolve certain disputes ensuring compliance with EEO and DEI training requirements and effectively addressing employee-related concerns discreetly and professionally. The Office also coordinates the agencys cultural and diversity-related events including monthly emails bulletin boards and in-person educational and celebratory events.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The selected intern will assist with EEO and DEI-related tasks which may include but are not limited to supporting: the update of EEO-related data to internal and citywide databases the review and analysis of EEO/DEI survey results the planning and execution of monthly DEI events the update of certain EEO-related forms as needed research and tasks for EEO inquiries and investigations organizing EEO casefiles other documents and other administrative tasks research potential sources for building and retaining diverse talent and other initiatives within the Office.

REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into a graduate program. Candidates should have strong analytical quantitative research and communication skills. Additionally candidates must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
Undergraduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited college or university. Strong analytical research and communications skills are required. Candidates must have familiarity in MS Word and Excel
Compensation/Duration:
Graduate College Aide$20 per hour
Undergraduate College Aide$17 per hour

Qualifications :
For Assignment Level I:
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.
For Assignment Level II (Information Technology):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology computer science management information systems data processing or closely related field including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology computer science management information systems data processing or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
SPECIAL NOTE
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
