Job Description

Pay: $23.50/hr starting base rate $6/hr shift differential once on weekend shift. 

Primary shift: Weekend Shift Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm
Training until weekend shift opens: Monday - Thursday 6am-6pm Friday 6am - 230pm

*Must be flexible to fill in on other shifts when there are pre-planned absences (includes night shift Mon-Thur 6pm-6am $5/hr shift differential when covering on night shift)

Position: 

Reporting to the Production Supervisor the Production Machine Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of the paver and block equipment. This individual must have industrial mechanic competencies and be able to learn how to adjust troubleshoot repair and operate machinery in the facility.  The chosen candidate will train on day or night shift.

  • Lead a team of general laborers
  • Operate production equipment to meet production needs while maintaining the highest product standards.
  • Complete equipment set-up procedures and preventative maintenance.
  • Use tools and measuring devices to maintain adjust and repair equipment.
  • Accurately prepare all necessary production and maintenance reports on a daily basis.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant components using hoists and hand tools.
  • Complete minor repairs on equipment and refers issues to maintenance to avoid production delays.
  • Communicate any product discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to relieving operators and shift managers as part of the shift change procedure.
  • Assist the Chief in daily operations and perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow established guidelines on policies procedures and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.

Qualifications :

  • Diploma in Industrial Mechanic or  Electromechanic 
  • 5 years of experience  in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Strong communications skills
  • Ability to self-motivate work autonomously and proactively
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours and overtime 
  • Flexibility adaptability organization skills and professionalism

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain stationary or move throughout the workstations; also includes the ability to ascend and descend steps and ladders; and position self in tight spaces. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms talk or hear.
