Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Controls/BIM Specialist with a strong focus on Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to support a major transportation infrastructure program. This role sits at the intersection of technology governance and design visualization helping to shape and implement project controls standards workflows and documentation practices across a complex multi-phase program.

The ideal candidate will have a construction background be highly tech-savvy and experienced in managing BIM tools and processes. Youll play a key role in coordinating between design construction and project controls teams to ensure seamless data flow accurate reporting and alignment with client and agency standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization and execution of VDC/BIM-related project controls in alignment with Turner & Townsends standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of project controls governance workflows and documentation standards.
  • Develop and maintain BIM execution plans tailored to transportation infrastructure requirements.
  • Monitor and report on BIM deliverables and model progress across disciplines.
  • Coordinate with architects engineers and contractors during weekly progress meetings.
  • Ensure BIM standards are correctly applied and submissions are timely and complete.
  • Provide training and technical support to project teams on BIM tools and workflows.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of models and documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with drafting modeling and BIM coordination as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT and digital teams to integrate new technologies into project workflows.
  • Support digital twin initiatives and data handover strategies for operations and maintenance.
  • Act as a liaison between design construction and project controls teams to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Integrate BIM data into project controls dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to present BIM-related progress and performance.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role which are to be adhered to where applicable. 

Qualifications :

*On-site/office presence is required Monday to Friday. Requirements may change depending on our clients needs.

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Architecture Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in BIM software and tools.
  • Strong construction management experience preferably within the transportation infrastructure sector.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit Navisworks ReCAP and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Dynamo or other automation tools is a plus.
  • Ability to explain two projects that demonstrate the use of BIM or CAD components.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 or other BIM standards and frameworks.
  • Understanding of construction phases and how BIM supports each stage.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g. BIM 360 ACC Procore).


Additional Information :

The salary range for this full-time role is $140K-$175K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range depending on candidates experience and qualifications.
