Our client a leading provider of institutional healthcare services is seeking a Dentist to join their team and provide high-quality dental care within a correctional facility.
This full-time role involves delivering comprehensive dental services to inmates/residents including exams diagnostics treatment planning and routine dental procedures. The ideal candidate is committed to patient care skilled in managing a wide range of dental needs and comfortable working in a secure compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and complex dental procedures including exams x-rays fillings extractions dentures and anterior/premolar root canals.
Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient.
Oversee the facilitys dental program and promote oral hygiene education.
Coordinate with medical staff and external providers for specialized or emergency dental care.
Maintain accurate dental records and ensure compliance with clinical documentation standards.
Manage dental equipment inventory and infection control practices.
Supervise and evaluate subordinate staff when applicable.
Participate in audits incident reviews and operational reports as required.
Ensure adherence to safety legal and correctional standards.
Qualifications:
DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of employment.
At least 1 year of dental experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience in correctional healthcare is a plus.
Familiarity with infection control and OSHA standards in clinical environments.
Must possess sound judgment professionalism and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
