Job Description

Special Education Teacher K 2 Self-Contained Classroom (School Year)

Our Team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom serving students in grades K 2 with low-incidence disabilities primarily autism. This is a full-time full school year position offering the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners through structured support and individualized instruction.

In this role you will create and maintain a nurturing consistent learning environment where students can build academic social and functional skills. You will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) provide direct instruction tailored to each child s unique strengths and needs and monitor progress toward established goals. Collaboration will be key you will work closely with families paraprofessionals and related service providers to ensure a holistic approach to student success.

This position is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting students with autism and other low-incidence disabilities and who thrives in a structured student-centered setting. Your classroom will be a safe and inclusive space where learners are encouraged to grow gain independence and reach their full potential.

Requirements

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
Bachelor s degree in Special Education or related field (Master s preferred).
Experience working with students with autism or in low-incidence classrooms strongly preferred.
