The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Software Engineer - Simulation to join the B-1B Simulation Software team located in Tinker AFB OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Our Bombers and Fighters software engineers design develop and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade. Your efforts will assist integration of cutting-edge technologies to maintain our platforms dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come. Additionally our software engineers support the development of the Simulation products associated with our platforms products that are upgrading to newer hardware and software systems.
Our engineers are involved in all aspects of these programs (software requirements design code and test) and our agile development approach allows new hires like yourself to quickly become very impactful and make a difference to our success.
Position Responsibilities:
Supporting software development on agile teams which are tasked with integrating/implementing solutions onto a platform
Developing high fidelity simulation and environment software and tool sets to enable rapid development test and deployment of high-quality software solutions for the war-fighter
Uses analytical problem-solving skills to resolve problems for the company and suppliers
Supports partnership with cross functional engineering teams to enable integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.
Uses engineering skills to deliver improved capabilities to both the warfighter and maintainers
Supports implementing current and emerging technologies tools frameworks and methods in the software engineering simulation environment
Applies engineering knowledge to continuously improve processes and tools
Supports modernizing migrating sustaining and updating simulation software to adapt legacy systems to new operating systems and hardware
Contributes to simulation software project management functions
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
2 years of experience programming using any of the following languages: C C Ada
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Engineering Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Mathematics Physics or other technical degree
Experience developing embedded real-time software and hardware
Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Experience developing models and simulation
Experience with Agile software development
Experience with modern software development tools (e.g. Jira Confluence Jenkins Git)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
