Job Description
Machine Operator II - CNC-Mill department
Pay : $25.70/hr
1. CNC- Milling Machines - Operations
a. Perform fundamental CNC-Milling Machines 3 and 5 axes.
b. Set up machines and apply safety protocols in machining environments.
c. Demonstrate knowledge of the basics of CNC programming including G-code and conversational programming.
d. Set up and operate CNC machining and turning centers.
e. Demonstrate knowledge of nontraditional machining technologies and advanced tool setups.
f. Apply multi-axis machine techniques for complex parts.
g. Conduct quality checks and effectively present project results
2. Precision Measurement and Tools
a. Operate precision measuring instruments including calipers micrometers and dial indicators
b. Accurately measure tolerances and perform part inspections.
c. Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor machining quality.
d. Explain the purpose of statistical process control (SPC)
e. Implement quality assurance principles and maintain proper documentation
3. Print Reading and Computer-Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing
a. Interpret blueprint symbols abbreviations and tolerancing standards.
b. Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to read and analyze shop prints.
c. Navigate and utilize CAD software for basic design and drafting
d. Understand the fundamentals of CAM including toolpath creation and simulation
Education requirement
HS the absence of a HS diploma or GED 2 years of relevant experience is required
Years of experience: 1 year (at least 4 years with no HS diploma/GED)
Machinist II - Machine Shop
Pay : $23.35/hr
1. Machining Operations
a. Perform fundamental machining operations including drilling milling turning and grinding.
b. Set up machines and apply safety protocols in machining environments.
c. Position adjust and secure stock material or workpieces against stops on vices or in chucks fixtures or automatic feeding mechanisms manually or using hoists.
d. Select install and adjust alignment of drills cutters dies guides and holding devices using templates measuring instruments and hand tools.
e. Move controls or mount gears or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds depths and angles.
2. Precision Measurement and Tools
a. Operate precision measuring instruments including calipers micrometers high gage edge finders and dial indicators
b. Accurately measure tolerances and perform part inspections.
c. Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales rules or templates.
d. Compute basic data such as gear dimensions or machine settings.
3. Print Reading and Computer-Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing
a. Interpret blueprint symbols abbreviations and tolerancing standards.
b. Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to read and analyze shop prints.
c. Navigate and utilize CAD software for basic design and drafting
d. Understand the fundamentals of CAM including toolpath creation and simulation
Education requirement
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/ or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
