Job Description
The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law preserve peace protect the people reduce fear and maintain order. The NYPD strives to foster a safe and fair city by incorporating Neighborhood Policing into all facets of Department operations and solve the problems that create crime and disorder through an interdependent relationship between the people and its police and by pioneering strategic innovation.
Under direct supervision of executive staff Confidential Strategy Planners will be responsible for researching developing creating and designing plans for long range solutions to ongoing problems affecting law enforcement strategies overall. They will examine strategies policies practices and operations in other jurisdictions with proven successful operations and project implementations. They will recommend new strategies policies and procedures to enhance the agencys performance in public safety. They will research and propose new and innovative agency initiatives policies and strategic plans to enhance public safety and increase efficiency in delivery of service. They will gather appropriate metrics and perform all quantitative analysis required to monitor performance and assess achievement of stated goals.

Qualifications :
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and three years
satisfactory full-time experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the
particular position.
