- Greet and prepare patients for dermatological examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and document patient medical histories vital signs and chief complaints.
- Assist dermatologists with a variety of clinical procedures including but not limited to skin exams biopsies excisions cryotherapy and cosmetic treatments.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of supplies.
- Perform wound care suture removal and dressing changes as directed.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and general dermatological health.
- Manage patient records and handle prior authorizations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Support front desk operations as needed including answering phones and verifying insurance.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA RMA or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dermatology or medical office setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of dermatologic terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems (e.g. EMA Epic or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor with patients and staff.
Job Type:
- Full time: Monday-Friday ranging from 7:30am-5:30pm
- Pay rate starting at $19/hr
