The function of Service / Repair Engineer is to actively run the Refurbishment Center in Penang. This function is highly technical and problem solving oriented. With good technical skill levels this function will cover 80% of the requested refurbishment by himself the other refurbishments will be coordinated and processed by either production or suppliers.
This role will also provide Field Service & Support to Bruker AXS installed base in Malaysia in coordination with the local Service Manager Malaysia. Here they perform customer support activities involving installation modification system level troubleshooting and remote hotline support of complex equipment to ensure proper working order.
Responsibilities
in-House Service / Repair Engineer
- Coordination of workload at the Refurbishment Center.
- Refurbish incoming parts as per requirements.
- Inspect incoming goods and coordinate special customer requests together with Order Management team and Customer Service.
- Manage the inventory of returned parts frequently.
- Coordinate the refurbishment parts which needs to be done via production or suppliers.
- Monitor the performance of Refurbishment Center by tracking KPIs.
- Coordinate with the other AXS factories and Refurbishment Center on workload process improvement and resource allocation.
- Monitor the stock levels of refurbished parts together with AXS Global Supply Chain Manager.
Field Service Engineer
- Install modify system level troubleshooting on equipment and systems following SOP policies procedures and work direction of supervisor or site lead.
- Support customer needs by communicating with factory personnel e.g. technical support and development.
- Train customer personnel in equipment operation applications.
- Customer account management.
- Provide necessary information and reports to Service Management Customers and Team Leaders.
- Conform at all times to Bruker and customers safety cleanliness and working protocol policies to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Complete standard operating procedures project plans and other documentations as required in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering or Science with minimum of 5 years or Diploma in Engineering with minimum of 10 years of experience in:
- repair & maintenance of high-voltage equipment.
- repair or production of electrical equipment.
- use or maintenance of Analytical X-ray Systems a plus.
- customer-facing service experience advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Excellent technical skills customer and solution oriented
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent English language skills
- Experience with KPIs and process management is of benefit.
Others:
- Travel Requirement to customers on a as per needs basis estimating to around 25%. Coverage would focus on the norther region of Malaysia.
