Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled Application Development tutor to deliver BTEC Level 5 (UK Framework) or AQF-equivalent qualifications in software and application development. The ideal candidate will have recent industry experience in Python-based development and relevant application design skills. Teaching and assessment training will be provided through structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) aligned with both UK and Australian vocational education standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured training in Application Development aligned with UK (BTEC Level 5) and/or Australian Qualification Framework standards.
Prepare engaging presentations and training resources for both online and in-person sessions.
Develop course content coding exercises and practical assessments that meet global industry and academic standards.
Assess learner performance provide feedback and support individual progress.
Ensure training delivery aligns with outcome-based assessment internal verification and compliance requirements.
Support curriculum enhancement and student project guidance.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field.
At least 2 years of recent hands-on experience in application development with strong proficiency in Python.
Working knowledge of version control (e.g. GitHub) software testing and agile development practices.
Clear understanding of database systems API integration and frontend/backend workflows.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
Familiarity with frameworks such as Django Flask or FastAPI.
Experience mentoring junior developers or conducting internal training.
Exposure to vocational training systems (BTEC or AQF preferred).
Passion for teaching and student engagement.
Excellent communication skills in spoken/written English.
Training & Support:
Candidate Profile Essential Criteria: Educational Qualification: Minimum Diploma in Hospitality Management or an equivalent/higher-level qualification in Hospitality. Industry Experience: At least three (3) years of post-qualification industry experience in the hospitality sector, preferably in Food & Beverage operations. This experience must have been gained within the last five (5) years to ensure industry currency. Training & Teaching Credentials: Prior experience in delivering Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs, with a solid understanding of training methodologies aligned with the Australian VET framework. The candidate must either hold the TAE (Training and Assessment) qualification or be actively undertaking the TAE, especially if they already have other relevant teaching/training credentials. Professional Commitment: Strong willingness to engage in ongoing professional development to maintain industry currency, training competence, and alignment with international hospitality standards. Preferred Qualities: Passion for education, student engagement, and skills-based learning. Experience with international standards of hospitality training (Australia/TAFE/VET preferred). Exceptional communication, mentorship, and presentation skills.
